2024: Year in Review
Posted on December 20, 2024

While last year was dedicated to strengthening our foundation—streamlining registration, enhancing navigation, and simplifying the audiobook creation process—2024 marked an exciting chapter of growth and discovery. We ventured beyond the basics to reimagine what's possible in the world of audio publishing. This year, we prioritized learning from our creative community. Through meaningful conversations with authors, narrators, producers, agents, and publishers, we gained invaluable insights into your aspirations and challenges. These discussions didn't just help us identify areas for improvement—they inspired ideas for innovations that we hope will propel your creative businesses forward. By introducing new beta programs and targeted research initiatives, we've also laid the groundwork for building better things for all audio creators in the year to come. Here's a look at the milestones—ours and yours—that shaped 2024 for ACX: New & Improved Features, programs, and educational offerings for the ACX community that launched or were upgraded in 2024:
Sales Overview enhancements featuring at-a-glance visualization of sales over time, reduced latency, robust filtration options, data quality improvements, and new marketplace insights.
Project Dashboard improvements, including a new "Live with Changes in Progress" status that provides better visibility into live titles that have been reopened for changes, making it easier for creators to manage their live audiobook projects.
ACX University returned with 6 new episodes featuring essential advice from sought-after industry and marketing experts, with more episodes to come in 2025.
The ACX Blog published 5 new inspiring creator spotlight pieces from extraordinary ACX authors, narrators, and producers who are taking audiobooks to the next level.
ACX invited a select group of narrators and rights holders to our Voice Replica beta. The limited beta allows participating narrators to create a replica of their own voice using AI-generated speech technology, which they can then use to audition for eligible titles with participating rights holders.
A refresh of the ACX Approved Producer (AAP) program will recognize exceptional narrators, producers, and studios on ACX, with new badges awarded quarterly going forward.
Updated royalty statements that are easier to view, customize, and interpret.
Amazon Music began offering Audible audiobooks as part of its subscription, enabling creators to grow their fan bases by reaching even more audio enthusiasts where they listen.
Indies in the Spotlight Proving that listeners love an indie listen, here are the ACX authors and narrators who received well-deserved accolades in 2024:
Thousands of ACX titles were included in Audible sales & promotions, encouraging Audible listeners to take a chance on a new title and helping ACX authors to grow their listener audience.
